The IDEAL School and Retreat Center is the perfect location for corporate retreats, family reunions, extended seminars or workshops, as well as a place for spiritual renewal. It is far enough away from Portland and Vancouver that you don't feel like running back into town, yet it is close enough to Portland and Vancouver that you don't have to spend all your time driving to get there. The retreat center is only 26 miles from Portland International Airport. It is 10 miles from Camas/Washougal, and there is a quaint mercantile store a mile away for those last minute items you might need.
The IDEAL School & Retreat Center is in a lovely 6000 square-foot country home with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood and the surrounding hills and valleys. Two creeks flow through the property, and 20 acres of trees and beautiful nature surround the facility providing a buffer from any traffic noise, and our remote location adds to the true retreat atmosphere. 
Deer, birds, squirrels and chipmunks are regularly seen around the house. For fun, there is a large trampoline outside and ping pong, foosball, and air hockey tables inside and a large collection of videos, DVDs, and books. It is less than a mile drive to great fishing on the Washougal River, or simply hike from the retreat center down to the North Fork of the Washougal River.
This retreat center has 5 sleeping rooms - 3 with shared bathrooms, 2 with private bathrooms. Larger groups are welcome to bring sleeping bags or make use of our futon and sofa for additional sleeping making the size of group we can accommodate very flexible for family reunions or college age retreats.

We provide 3 nutritious and delicious home-cooked meals per day. Vegetarian and vegan options are available at each meal. We are quite flexible and can adapt to a variety of dietary needs. Please let us know in advance what you would like so that we can customize this to best meet your needs. Besides the three meals, coffee, tea, and other drinks are available throughout the day. Fruit snacks are also available at any time.
